The Calculation Faculty is committed to enriching students’ lives by ensuring we build up their numerical, IT and Enterprise skills to handle any problem they may face in the wider world. We want to help students build resilience in their character through problem-solving activities. Most of all, we want to ensure that students leave Fortis with the aspirations to change the world by moving on to the next stage of their educational journey.

Students in years 7-9 have 4 Maths lessons a week. Maths ensures that students build up their numerical skills to handle any problem they may face in the wider world. Beginning with core knowledge of Maths mastery, developing problem-solving fluency and a love of Mathematics earning which extends into courses for the sixth form: A Level Mathematics, A Level statistics and A Level economics.
