ccording to recent studies, children who are involved in enrichment and extra-curricular activities on a regular basis tend to get higher grades inside the classroom.  Team this with an increased sense of self-worth and confidence, and these activities become a vital part of their development and of the life of an academy which strives to develop the whole child.

At Fortis Academy, we have a tradition for delivering a wide range of high-quality opportunities outside of the usual curriculum.  These include regular events, shows and concerts staged by our Performing Arts Department; a huge range of sporting activities from regular coaching sessions, fitness and wellbeing classes, team sports, external competitions and the highlight of the academy calendar, our Sports Day held each year in the Alexander Stadium; outdoor pursuits, including events organised with The Outward Bound Trust and our annual Shropshire Summits Challenge, and a host of enrichment activities linked to the curriculum such as trips to the National Space Centre, trips abroad etc.

We encourage pupils to participate in our school show.

We encourage each and every one of our pupils to pursue enrichment outside of the classroom. Whatever activity your child is interested in, our teachers aim to create a supportive environment to make pursuing ambitions rewarding and enjoyable.
